Starlight

I think-
No, that’s not true, I know-
Know that you were always
The starlight in my universe,
Always;
Whether distant and beautiful
Or near and warming,
Still starlight, always you
Shining in my empty spaces.
Not mine now, but still my starlight,
Still all the glory,
Starlight distant but still luscious
Ever brilliant in my heart
Like the taste of Life I once
Felt in your arms.
Always is yours the smile that
Drives out the shadows in my dreams.
Always the starlight in my universe.
Always
Still
Forever
Starlight.

Street Song 3: No Technology (The Art of Neo-Primitive Seduction)

First we’ll leave our keys
And park both of our cars.
Walk together like we used to do,
Just me and you under the stars.
And we’ll pretend that it’s dark,
Ignoring the glare of the street lights
As our hearts reach toward each other
And our minds reach for higher heights;
So that by the time that we get back home
We’ll be more than ready to be alone.

See we don’t need no technology
Comin’ between you and me,
From now until the sun starts to rise
The only light I need is in your eyes.

Turn your iPod off baby,
And put it on the counter next to mine.
Leave your laptop there too, don’t worry,
Everything will be just fine.
While I light these candles, Hon,
You can kill those lights,
I told you things were gonna be different tonight.
I already logged off the computer
And turned off my phone,
Tonight nobody’s gonna keep us from being alone.

See we don’t need no technology
Comin’ between you and me;
From now until tomorrow is born
You’re the only thing I’ll need to turn on.

Come over by the fireplace with me,
I got the bottle of oil, grab that bottle of wine.
You’ll see we don’t need no damn TV
And I promise everything will be just fine.
I’ll drink from your glass and you from mine
While we hold each other by the firelight.
And as my hands caress your spine,
I’m glad there’re no distractions tonight.
When we end our dance, I’ll hand you a corsage
As we relax together on the floor.
Then I’ll take your feet and start to massage-
Just a hint of what I have in store.

See we don’t need no technology
Comin’ between you and me;
From now until the morning sun
Nothing will keep us from being one.

Tasting Memories

Shadows of what we were- when we were-
Even now cloud what I am what I do
As I step away from you-and-I-as-one;
The equation that has been my reality
Since we were formed from dust together.
And even though ashes are all that’s left
Of the fire that once burned between us,
I still think about us,
I still think about you;
About you in my arms
About the rain in your hair
About the tears in my eyes
About what we used to be together,
Tasting memories that are sweeter than the truth.

Slo Blues Time

This is the slo blues time,
when smoke and candlelight show the way
to sensations more sublime
than those we find by light of day.
No longer wrapped in indignant lies,
we meet in soultouch, lip to lip,
breathing desire in breathless sighs,
raising ecstasy in waiting hips.
Tomorrow holds no hope for me,
so I reach for you tonight,
here with only our hearts to see
our souls soaring in flight.
This desire, this throbbing, are fundamental things
as my lips your neck, your shoulder caress
in the first expression of my yearnings,
in these first stages of our undress.

This is the time of the slo and sweet,
tendernesses touching longing as we stroke and feel
each other where lust and night both meet,
kiss each other where desire and fantasy are real.
This is truth on a level beyond our dreams,
existing prior in thoughts, yet always unspoken,
as candles shine on bodies bent in succulent extremes
and slowly flowing with fluids molten.
Tonight no secrets from me are hidden,
I drink the wine of your greatest desire
and feed you of my body, swollen
in anticipation of finding fleshly fires.
We move in a profound manifestation of verb,
your body my focus, mine your friction
as we stretch this moment as infinite as a proverb,
moving toward our inevitable benediction.

This is the slo sweet burning moment,
though we are far east of the sun here where we blaze,
trying to take each other’s tormented torrent,
driving and sending each other sideways and endways and edgeways,
flying starwards, riding the lightning
until pleasure becomes too deep, too much
and we release this wave, bodies clutching and gushing
knowing that rhythm must always come to such.
We shiver in a cloud of our own incense,
spirits singing, returning to flesh in spasms,
adding heavenly colors, rich and intense,
to bodies, joined still, in ecstasy’s poem.
We return to earth, having touched the universe
and heard it sigh, whispering our name
and knowing, now and ever more, our gift and our curse
is that after tonight, nothing will ever be the same.

Maybe We’ll Be Sky There

It’s easy to remember our days together
(Beautiful like rain)
And hard to forget the nights in each others arms;
(Beautiful like moonlight)
Now that I spend watchful, wakeful nights
(Beautiful like my Muse)
Walking alone under the stars.
(Beautiful, just right)
I feel your smile in the clouds at sunset,
(Beautiful like the lakeshore)
Searching for a hint of your perfume in the breeze
(Where we so beautifully loved)
Longing for some sign from Heaven
(Beautiful like you and me)
To soothe our careless Love.
(Beautiful like blue lights at Christmas)
I’d give all my tomorrows
(On a beautiful winter’s night)
For just one tonight together;
(Beautiful like your sweet arms around me)
Remembering what we were,
(Beautiful like you my Heart)
Dreaming of what we could have been
(Beautiful like me my Love)
And hoping to be together in Heaven.
(Beautiful like you and me)
Maybe we’ll be sky there
And the Love we had and lost
Will just be a memory.
(Beautiful like a touch that’s beautifully brief)
Maybe we’ll be sky there
(Beautiful like you and me)
And this life will be a memory.

Avatars

“There is a space between man's imagination and man's attainment that may only be traversed by his longing.”
Sand and Foam
                        Kahlil Gibran

The hours, the days
When my entire universe was encompassed
By you,
Contained within the spell cast
By your eyes, by your smile;
Your field surrounding me like electricity,
Hair like silk, eyes like fire
All attracting me to your density;
This was the beginning of desire.
I was caught
Like starlight in a diamond
Under deep October skies,
Refracted and reflected
In the jewel of your soul until I was burning
With fever for you,
Your touch, even proximity, the only treatment,
Your kiss the only cure.

This Love we share,
Passing in every wind and shadow
Of a Summer’s evening,
Moving in every leaf and root
Of an Autumnal dawn,
Growing, becoming us and more than us,
Something both simple and magnificent.
The soft rains of April and the sweet snowfalls of December,
Changing us in ways we cannot see,
Remaking us in the image of our hearts.
These few, precious moments
When we touch the Infinite,
Resonating with the waves of our Love,
When all the things you are are mine,
When all I ever dreamed is realized in
The briefest glimpse of the faintest contemplation
Of the most minute reflection of your smile in a raindrop.

These silent moments,
That is when our avatars aggregate,
Making us singular, one in each other,
One with the Sea of Dreams,
One with the laws that made fire and earth.
We move differently,
We are not these people, not these realities,
Not these bodies that house the Eternal in us,
Not the anchor but the ship
And the chain; not Gravity but the worlds it moves
And the space they move through.
We move, we dance, we sing
Like so many stars,
Moving like the promised kiss of Springtime.
We speak in angels’ glow,
Lighting suns with our expressions of affection,
Creating Life in each other,
Denying the emptiness of separation, of reality,
With every touch, with every word.

I am tangled in our scent,
Drunk from the incense in the spaces
That lie in the corners of our minds,
Filled with the smoke of us,
Blessed by the offering we send up,
In honor of ourselves,
To the Light that bound water and wind
Into the breathless kisses that we share,
Holding each other’s hearts
Under the full January moon.

In The Deep Purple Bliss

We are not children of the sun,
not us, not in this incarnation.
We are the dancing stillness of the night.
And when moonlight touches us,
And my arms find your body within,
I hear your name whispered in bliss,
Flowing from my lips to your heart.
This is when I am a Man;
When I am reflected in your eyes,
When your atmosphere swirls around me,
When we touch each other without touching,
Standing in harmony under stars’ regard,
This is when I am a Man.

Seeking the deep purple time,
When removed we are from sunlight’s weight
And I may enter you presence unfettered,
Measured not by cosmic dimensions, there at the door to night,
We rush head long through the steel hours,
Souls longing as much for eventide
As our hearts long for one another.

We are the dancing stillness of the night,
Having shrugged free of summer days,
And it is to you I turn,
To the one I love,
To share chilled moonlight by the glassful,
To know Love.
I live in your eyes here,
In the darkened midnight hours,
When no other eyes touch us,
When your smile is all the moon I’ll ever need
Then, and only then,
Carried by African drums and space-age times,
Do I live.
I was made to Love you.

We are not of the days,
Bathing each other in late breezes,
And we feed each other every second of darkness,
Eating our nights together with all our souls
Because too soon even the stars fade.
Each hour nourished by your smile is another endless night,

Another passionate dusk to sustain me,
When darkness fades and I am
Tortured by Hyperion’s gaze
And distance from you.
Knowing I will hold you tight again,
When the deep purple falls
And I live in your Love;
Where the night is so easy to remember
And so, so hard to forget.
